Tamarack Marketplace in Beckley, West VA - Another Must Visit!

Today, we drove about 40 minutes south to Tamarack Marketplace, a state operated complex featuring West Virginia arts and crafts (see quote below), artisan shops (glass blowing was being done today, others include woodworking, pottery, etc.), large art gallery, bookshop, and a cafeteria type restaurant featuring regional food - we had a nice lunch before browsing. All but the first two pics are my own - probably represents only a third of what was on display for purchase. Highly recommended if in the area (closed on Tuesdays). Dave :)
Tamarack Marketplace is a marketplace in Beckley, West Virginia run by the West Virginia Parkways, Economic Development and Tourism Authority. Tamarack sells local artisan goods made from materials such as wood, glass, textiles, pottery, metal, jewelry, as well as food, art, books and recordings. There are five resident artisan studios, as well as craft demonstrations which take place most weekends from spring through fall. (Source)

I could spend a few hours in that shop looking at all the unique items for sale.

Well, being a woodworker, I spent about 20 mins looking at the musical instrument exhibit and another 15 mins watching the glass blower in one of my previous pics - believe he was making a small vase. Another area that I did not visit this time was the Tamarack Fine Art Gallery, easily another half hour or more - exhibitions change so new art work is often present - if interested, click on the link for a virtual tour. Dave :)
