IOS Update

The IOS 16.2 is available for my iPad mini. My iPhone 7 only goes up to 15.7.2. Will I have a conflict is I update my iPad mini? Like photos, emails, etc. that are shared by both devices.

You should be fine. I have an older iPad Air2 as well as a newer iPad Pro and haven't had any problems.

I don't believe Apple has updated how any of the apps work with files. This was the usuall cause of incompatibilty. There have been no mentions of problems like this. In the past when upgrades might affect your device's interoperability Apple has added warning notifications to the upgrade process.
