What's the last movie you saw?

No Name on the Bullet, arguably the best Audie Murphy western. More psycho thriller than shoot-em-up.

Topsy-Turvy, the story of how The Mikado saved Gilbert and Sullivan’s partnership. A must-see for all G&S fans, packed with glorious music, costumes, sets, and acting.

I just watched Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, which I last saw when it came out in 1954. I remembered almost none of it, understandable since i was far too young to understand Verne’s story or the motivations of his characters. It’s actually a pretty good film, with spectacular underwater scenes and special effects, long before technology made it easy. On YouTube.

I’ve also seen the silent version of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. It dates from about 1916.

House of Dynamite on Netflix. This echo of Failsafe is a jumbled, repetitive mess of a thin story that you eventually realize is supposed to be showing events through the eyes of different characters…over, and over, and over. And then, just when you start caring a little about the characters, the movie just stops, without an ending. Don’t bother with this waste of time.
