0xe8000001 error

I did a search here, and, if this has already been covered I couldn't find it. Recently on plugging my iPad to my desktop (pc) I get the error ... something to the effect that this is an unknown error and can't connect. The iPad starts intermitenly ringing about every four or five seconds and the PC locks up with the error...0xe8000001

This is so frustrating. Can anyone help out here. I would be deeply appreciative

I've gained this error some while ago. If anyone else gets into the same trouble I suggest you to follow the steps described EDITED - no website links

This problem has been posted eight years ago, and the member hasn’t been back since 6 years. I’m sure his problem has been solved by now.
