While not as novel as some of these, I have a use for mine I haven't seen elsewhere. My dogs have escaped our fence a few times. We made some changes to the fence but I wasn't sure they were contained and wanted to be able to look in on them from time to time, so I set up a home security system with 4 outdoor cameras connected to a networked DVR. Unfortunately the viewing software is proprietary so I couldn't see it on my iPad, but I leave it running on my computer and then just iTeleport in from my iPad to check on them. Over 3G the video is a little choppy but it works fine.
