A tip on movie rentals

I just learned something that might be very helpful, but hopefully nobody will experience this.

I rented a movie from iTunes, and it was in the middle of downloading when it somebody fast forwarded to the end and said it was finished way ahead of time. Uh, I don't think so, but it insisted it downloaded and there was no means to continue. Sure enough, it only got about 5 minutes worth. Looked up how to report a problem to iTunes, and they got right on it and reset it so I could download it again. Kudos to iTunes.

Here's what they forgot to mention though. DELETE the movie before you try downloading it again! They forgot to mention that, and apparently the iPad gets really confused by that. All I got was a black screen when I clicked on videos, but after much fiddling and rebooting I finally got it to show two instances of it and I was able to delete the first instance and it behaves normally now.

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Many thanks for your very useful tip on movie rentals. I've not experienced this problem (yet!) myself, but I'm sure, if I had, I wouldn't have thought of deleting the movie first - so many thanks for this useful advice.

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free from

http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/...User_Guide.pdf

Also the iPad2 manual is available at http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/ipad_2_user_guide.pdf

It’s free too.
