Any recommendations for some type of adware.

Generally I can ignore ads. In the past few days the ‘active’ ads, especially in the bottom right corner, have become so disruptive that I need to use something to get rid of them.

I've been very happy with Weblock. It uses a proxy scheme to redirect ads, even in apps. It lets you whitelist websites where desired, e.g., if a blocker interferes with the site's functionality, or toggle blocking easily via a widget. You do have to remember to reenable VPN in Settings after every reboot. Well worth the $1.99 cost.
