After many years loving all successive generations of iPod Touch, my eyes just couldn't help wanting a bigger screen. I tried an Android tablet about the same screen size as an iPad, but when I compared it to a friend's iPad, the iPad was so much better that I quickly sold the tablet and bought my first iPad.
I'm delighted with my iPad 3 32G. Wish I had got one a long time ago.

I use all the regular functions, but I find it very useful for reading eBooks in a large font. In fact, I'm using for that 4 hours or more a day.
For the personal information:
I'm 79, retired, and am losing my formerly excellent eyesight. I've been an amateur (ham) radio operator for 64 years. I started in computing in the 1960s with mainframes and then got into personal computing with the Radio Shack 'trash80', the Osborne and other early systems, CP/M, the early Apple GS and then IBM DOS. I was on the development team for the first Windows (v. 0.95).
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone with ideas about eBook readers, especially for ePub format. I really liked the Moon+ reader in Android and wish there was an iOS app like that.
