Any good Chinese apps?

I bought an iPad for my retired dad mainly as a photo storage/viewer since he takes a lot of photos but doesn't have a computer (although my mom does). As a way of extending functionality for him, I was wondering if there were any Chinese apps (I can't read but he can) that he might find useful. Maybe a Chinese news app?

There are several Chinese News apps in the iPad App Store - including some in Chinese (Mandarin - I think) but I don't know how to put the details (in Chinese here!). Search 'China' in the iPad App Store....

There are several more, too, in English.

I know I can do a search, but since I can't read Chinese, I wanted some first-hand reviews about which apps might be good from the forum readers here.

Doh - Tim slips up again - now I'm a sub sub sub moderator...

If you don't get any replies I have a number of Chinese students in Aberdeen who could help....their exams are coming up soon................

Chinese talking clock app

There's a new "talking clock" app for iPad called VOX Clock. It tells the time in Mandarin (as well as Japanese, French, English) and it's localized into Chinese. It makes a good bedside alarm clock -- no more fumbling for glasses in the middle of the night, just reach over and tap to hear a pleasant Chinese female voice whisper the current time.
