Any success with Samsung T5 Portable SSD and iPad Pro?

This question assumes that iPad OS 13.x is installed on your iPad. There’s a YouTuber who says it works with his iPad Pro, but given iPads’ reported issues with external devices which require more power than the iPad can supply, I wonder.

thanks for sharing any knowledge about this.

Hi Padcatt - I have an iPad Pro w/ iPadOS 13.x installed, plus a new 'blank' Samsung T5 (1 TB) formatted APFS (plan to use as a TM backup drive in the future when one of my spinners dies!) - but yesterday, plugged it into my iPad (USB-C to USB-C) and Files did recognize the drive (see pic below) - now I have nothing on the SSD to test and tried to transfer some files from Files & iCloud w/o success (my first try so not necessarily a negative?) - if not already done, checkout this Article which implies that much can be done - not sure w/o further testing on my part; but in all honesty I do not have much need for using an external drive on my Pad - do a lot of my routine work on Apple laptops. Please add your own experiences, successes or failures, since others will certainly be curious. Good luck - Dave :)
