App store no longer available: please help me! :(

When I try to get anything from the App Store it says that the US store is not available on this account and I must switch to the UK store. Fine, okay! But I cannot find any way to switch from the US store to the UK store. I have no idea how I switched to the US store in the first place and now I cannot get back. It also means that the automatic updating has ceased.

So will someone please tell me how to get back to the UK store. Thanks.

Hi again!

What you experienced, happens when you follow a link in Safari (or in this app, ...), which leads to a different country's store.

Change the store in App Store - Featured. There, scroll down to your Apple ID and sign out. Then sign in again with your existing ID. In the process you'll be redirected to your original store.
