I'm browsing through the app store, I'm looking at #500 out of a list of thousands, sorted by popularity. I take a look at the description for an app, and when I return to the search I'm back at #1 on the list and I have to start scrolling back to #500 again, one screen at a time. Is there a way not to lose my place?
Thanks,
g2s

Don't worry it's not just you. This is driving everyone *crazy*. It's a known 'feature' and it seems intermittent - sometimes you get the problem, other times you don't. No real cures known, I'm afraid; there have been one or two 'work arounds' but I guess it's something we'll have to wait for Apple to fix. Until then we just tear our hair out...:(

annoying isnt it?! so if an app interest you write them down first. then check them afterwards.

How about a screen save of the page just in case!

Yes, you know what I mean, if you get used to me, i often forget the proper names, but most of my friends just tease me! When Marie uses thingy, I know what she means!

a pen and paper will do. lol if I use the screen shot like how many pics do I have go through. I usually make it a point to browse to all the searches. up until the last page! lol

I'm lazy, but I do use my notes app to write things in as well, because my memory is shot on occasion! Stress, I'm sure!

Nope, I agree with Hayles, I always take a pic and move on then do a mass download. Have you tried an app called appshopper you can set many features and it never reverts to #1.

App Hits works well and has a good description off the app while you are on the list. (But I still use Appshopper , too.

Soooo, I'm not the only one that hates this 'feature' or problem that Apple has. I'm really surprised they haven't fixed it yet. Another problem that is along the same lines is when I'm trying to download more than one program. I have to click download, which takes me out of the apps program, then I have to go back into the apps program, find the next one and start downloading that as well.

I really wonder why they don't have a 'basket' feature. You know, like all the internet stores have. Just add something you like to your basket for downloading later. It would work wonders if they did this, or let you add a program you like to your favourite list so that you can look at it later.

I go into the app store from the app on my home screen. There is a button on the bottom to go to the update page. There is a button on the top that says update all. If you click on the update all, it will take you outside of the application, but it does update them all at one time.

I've read somewhere that this will be fixed in iOS 5. Seems that the latest beta already has it. No more exiting when downloading/updating an app...
