Apple has today announced that it will finally be launching the latest iPad in China on July 20. As 9to5 Mac notes, China is a massively important market for Apple, its second-biggest after the United States, in fact, so the delay in releasing the latest version of the iPad, which has already been out for several months in many other territories around the world, has been somewhat of a surprise, although it’s likely that it had something to do with Apple’s trademark dispute over the iPad name in China with Chinese company Proview. Or maybe it’s just a huge coincidence that Apple finally announces the launch of the next iPad in China following on from settling the dispute in the Chinese courts by paying Proview $60 million in compensation. As usual, Apple is giving nothing away! Well, whatever the reason, Chinese Apple fans won’t care, as they’ll now be able to officially buy the newest iPad, complete with gorgeous Retina display, from Friday July 20.
