Apple confirms iPad 2 Price Drop

Apple is ready to put even more heat on it's tablet competition including the Amazon Kindle by lowering the price of the Apple iPad 2 16GB Wi-Fi model to $399 and the Apple iPad 2 32GB Wi-Fi/3G to $529. Although the technology in the iPad2 is a year old, $399 is an amazing price for all the power it still packs.

Looks like it might be time for the competition to call it a day. Even at the old price no-one else could get more than a foot in the door. Now? I'm glad I'm not trying to make a living selling non-Apple tablets. Payday could look very thin.

He's only 9. The iPod is probably a bit more resilient for a kid of his age, but still...$400 represents amazing value for money.

it seems like you cant get an iapd 2 32 gig just the 16 gig verison which is a mistake.
a 32 gig ipad 2 for 499 would be a killer deal

Great. We got our iPad2 shortly after the new year. Back then I heard about an new iPad soon to come, but I figured it would cost much more with all the new stuff. And since Apple never striked me as a company who would go down with prices, I thought I can't afford that new iPad and got the iPad2. Now I read this and getting really sad.
