Those people who have only just bought a brand new iPad 3, only to find that Apple announced a refresh of the range yesterday with the fourth-generation iPad, might find it worth their while to pop down to their local Apple Store and see whether or not Apple will give them a fourth-gen iPad in exchange for their iPad 3. According to a story on CNET today, some customers have found success by visiting their local Apple stores and asking for their iPads to be exchanged. The CNET reporter investigated by asking at the Stockton Street Apple Store in San Francisco, where the manager told her that “this specific store†would let customers exchange their third-gen iPad for a fourth-gen one, provided that it had been purchased within the last 30 days, and did not show serious sign of wear and tear. She was also told that this was on a store-by-store basis: “We can’t speak to other stores’ policies - this is something our store has decided to do.†Worth a try though!
