At the Yerba Buena event in San Francisco that has just ended (you can watch it online on Apple's website), Apple's CEO Tim Cook disclosed an interesting bit of information. Cook said today that Apple had sold over 170 million iPads in total since the first version has been launched. This big number depicts the huge impact that Apple's tablets have had on mobile computing and our daily lives.
Apple's CEO also mentioned hat the iPad has a 81% share of tablet usage, but he didn't quote any research firms, so let's take that with a grain of salt. But where Apple's boss really hit the nail on the head was with the number of apps designed for iPad - 475,000. Almost half a million of applications optimized for the iPad is a number that definitely makes Android tablet owners jealous.
