Apple ID problems

A friend helped me get my iPad. Somehow between the buying and me getting it, about three other people had logged in to apple app store with their apple ID... Now I have some cool apps which they downloaded, by the way, but I can't upgrade them because I don't have the passwords, obviously. What do I do short of deleting and re-downloading those apps? Please, Any ideas anyone?

Unfortunately, you'll never be able to upgrade those apps until/unless those people log in with their Apple IDs and do the upgrade.

All apps are tied to the Apple ID. And, they don't transfer - as far as Apple is concerned, those apps on the iPad not linked to your Apple account are not yours, so you can't do any upgrades.

So, your only option is to delete them from the iPad and go to the App Store and buy them with your Apple ID. That way, they are permanently linked to your Apple ID (read: you own them, not your friends) and you can always upgrade them.
