Macnn has today spotted that Apple has started offering refurbished versions of the newest iPad, released earlier this year, online in the Refurbished section of the online Apple Store in the US, for a discount of $50. As Macnn notes, the discount is a flat $50, regardless of what model you choose, or whether or not it has 4G support. So for example, a 16GB Wi-Fi-only iPad is available for $449, and a 64GB 4G and Wi-Fi iPad is $779. Every refurbished iPad comes complete with a one-year warranty, a new battery and shell. Macnn also notes that the fact that Apple is already selling refurbs of the latest iPad could have more significance than just the price drop alone, commenting that Apple doesn’t usually start selling refurbs until later in a product’s life cycle, when demand for the new product has dropped off slightly, so this could maybe be an indication of the rumoured forthcoming refreshed version of the latest iPad.

Not a significant discount to justify buying a refurbished product. Might as well buy a brand new one. ;)
