Each time I have bought an Apple product I have been told this and I've bought quite a few for my family. I recently bought my daughter a MacBook pro and as she has just graduated to become an architect we were unsure which one to purchase, it was a surprise for her. The Apple guy told me to tell her she could take it for a spin and try it out with her programmes and if she wanted to, she could swap it in the 14 day window, well she did return it for a larger screen with some other upgrade and we didnt have a problem. She just wiped the Mac clean before returning. They do ask you to keep all the boxing though.
