Apple’s annual 12 Days of Gifts campaign for 2013 has just been announced with the launch of the dedicated app in the App Store. For the first time, customers from the United States will be able to to participate in the giveaway that takes places for 12 days between 26 December and 6 January.

From 26 December – 6 January, you can download a gift each day—songs, apps, books, movies, and more—with the 12 Days of Gifts app. Each day’s gift will only be available for 24 hours, so download the free app to make sure you don’t miss out. Please note: Not all content is available in all countries.

During that period, a special free item from the iTunes, iBooks, and App Stores will be offered to iOS users that have downloaded the app. Each digital gift will be available for only 24 hours, so you will need to check in daily to get it. The free 12 Days of Gifts app will bring free songs, apps, books, movies, and more.

Recently, Apple has also released the ‘Holiday Cheer’ playlist that lets you download 8 free Christmas songs.

Only for iOS7

Those of us who can't or won't update to a bland looking iOS7 get nothing as this app only runs on iOS7. We can't even get a look at a free iBook. Doesn't that leave something like 25% of loyal iOS users out in the cold?

Finally, we get to enjoy this as well.

Has anyone downloaded the free Christmas Songs from the Apple Store App? You must do it on your iPhone to get it. It's quite nice! :)

Edit--Oops, I didn't see that Radu mentioned that already!
