Appropriate app for doing what I want to accomplish

Although I have been using an iMac now for over a year and loving it, I'm a new iPad user and am still feeling my way around it. But I have a question. My main purpose for buying the iPad was to use it as a portable music book. I have hundreds of songs written out in MS word doc's and simply want to export them to my ipad for viewing. Nothing fancy, I just want to be able to read the songs from my iPad rather than lugging around a large 3-ring binder. What is the best app available for doing this?

Thanks

There are a lot of apps that lets you view files content, including Word documents. Look for FileApp, or GoodReader. Any apps that can transform your iPad as a USB storage will do the trick.

If you want a more formatted presentation, then Pages would be the way to go, but it will cost you 9.99$.

The way I would do what you want to achieve is using Dropbox. This way, you can sync a folder on a PC, with all your devices including the iPad and have the documents always available and up to date. Box is another one, but you have to manually upload the content to their cloud.

In the end, you just need an app to store the documents, as the iPad is able to display Word documents natively (sometimes loosing on the format...)
