Can apps designed for the iPhone and/or the ipod Touch be downloaded to and used on the iPad3? I suspect they can but not with the same fidelity but I really don't know so need some help/advice. Thanks, B
Yes, they can. However, they will only appear on portrait orientation and typically you will want to use the 2X button to get them to scale up to the full iPad screen size.
