Attaching IPad as an iPhone screen

Hi guys Is there a way to link the iphone to the ipad to use it as a live display. I know there are apps that use bluetooth (which is too slow, the picture is jerky and of poor quality) and wifi (which I unfortunately won't have where it's needed). Basically I'm planning on using the phone as a camera attachment to the iPadI and I'm happy to connect via a cable if it will work and give a good picture? Thanks
