I sideloaded some mp3 music files onto my iPad Mini. I can view them in the Download directory and when I highlight one I get a popup list of apps with "Audio Player" at the top. Clicking on this starts the music playing and the screen has many options, such as:
- the double arrow pointing left (go back to beginning)
- " " " " right (go to end)
- single arrow pointing to right (play) which becomes the " sign to pause.

Where is this app's icon? To play a selection I have to go to it in iFile (or similar) and highlight it, etc. - Isn't there an icon for "Audio Player"?
Very puzzling!!!!

Sounds like you did things the hard way, downloading via iFile to a folder; possible only with a jailbreak. It would have been easier to just pick a good audio app and downloaded the MP3 files to it. Some often recommended ones are AVPlayer and OPlayer. But there are lots of options, to suite every taste and feature set.

I don't jailbreak myself, but if I understand iFile it's a file manager for an OS that doesn't really want you directly managing your files. That being the case, only iFile and (maybe) some other jailbreak apps are going to be able to see those files. That's why there's no app. It's just a feature of iFile. A kind of 'here you can play this if you want' kind of add on; not a full featured audio player app.
