Best free alternative to Safari?

I've tried just about every browser out there, including Terra, and IMHO the best alternatives to Safari are Atomic and Mercury, in that order.

Before anyone can recommend and alternative to Safari, it would be helpful to know what don't like about it. What features are you looking for that Safari does not offer? And if you are not willing to spend at least $1.00, your choices are going to be very limited.

Well, I've tried iCab, Skyfire and Atomic browser. Atomic wins hand down for me. There isn't a single thing I don't like about it. It's super fast, it gives you laptop-like tabs browsing, it lets youndownload files from pages, fully customizable and it supports gestures... For instance you can set a two finger swipe to the left to make the browser go back a page.. Plus I think its only .99cents.

iCab came a close second since it offers almost if not all the features Atomic does and some say it has a prettier UI it's all personal opinion IMO... I feel its slower rendering pages than atomic then again it could be just me being paranoid :p

Skyfire was a huge disappointment for me.. Besides the fact that it can run flash videos in some pages is the only point going on for itself... It's slow, doesnt offer real tabbed browsing and it takes an eternity to boot up compared to Atomic and iCab oh and its way more expensive than the other two.

Recently I found one called Life browser.. Haven't tried it yet but you should check it out.. I think they have a video up in YouTube and it looks pretty cool.

Hope this helps :)

Atomic. You can use tabbed browsing. You can change the font size for a site and save it. You can set the browser to NOT look like a tablet which allows you to get to non-tablet versions of web sites, like Yahoo.com. Those are my top 3 reasons for going with Atomic.
