Blanking The Search Area Text Easily (to be ready for new Search text)

Hello,

No big deal, but annoying.
Have a iPad3

On the upper right, in the search area, in the APP store:

Everytime I do a search, I have to use the Backspace key to get rid of the old text prior to doing a new search with new text.

Tried pressing on the X, tapping here and there, but nothing seems to make it blank, and ready to accept a new search.

Read somewhere, i think, that in Config, somewhere, there is a setting that allows for someone to just tap in the area and it will become blank.

Is there such an option ? Or,... ?
