Bluetooth from any phone to iPad?

Hi,
Just wondering if any one knows why my ipad2 will recognize non apple phones, will pair with them but won't let transfers happen? Is apple really that exclusive?

Even the iPhone will only pair with the iPad in a very limited way. The file transfer protocols aren't supported between iOS devices either.

You can transfer files between iPhone and iPad if you are running compatible apps on both devices. There are several apps that support this in the store.
