Bookmarks have vanished

I had quite a few pages bookmarked, used them this morning, but tonight they have vanished, all of them are gone....has something changed, I have done nothing to the iPad, it has not been connected to the computer, has been sitting on kitchen bench all day......any ideas please

We had a simulair problem after syncing with the cloud. I was using 2 devices with one itunes account. That made a big mess.

I'm using 2 devices with one Apple ID, without any mess. My bookmarks are syncing without problems.

Reboot your iPad. Perhaps that will solve the problem.

Tried rebooting, nothing, even f I save a bookmark, It doesn't appear, all I have is a square box with little icons, Facebook bookmark messages etc

Could you post a screenshot? At the moment I don't know exactly what you meant.

Where do you tap to see your bookmarks? If you tap the arrow, this appears:





To view the bookmarks, you have to tap the open book, then this should appear:

Yes I am getting all that but on the 2nd pic you have it is not showing bookmarks just showing History.

At the bottom of you r 2nd pic it has across the drop down, an open book, Little clock then what looks like a pair of glasses, if I click on the open book there I get just these sites...apple yahoo google Bing Ipad user guide
If I click on the clock I get the history of where i have browsed, If i click on the pir of glasses I get reading list
When I save a book mark it should show up under the open book but it vanishes

Press home and power button at the same time for a short time.

Ok when I click on the arrow, it comes up the same as in your 1st screen shot, then i tap the open book, in the middle of the bottom row as per your 1st screenshot. what then opens for me is a drop down box asking me to add a bookmark, if I try to add a bookmark of the site I am on at the time when that opens it wont save them in the bookmark it saves them in history as history

This way you only can save bookmarks.
Look at my second picture. There you have to tap the open book.
