Bookmarks vs History

Missing something here. I add sites to my bookmarks, but that listing also accumulates visited sites I did not bookmark. Erasing history seems to erase my bookmarks as well. But I've only had the iPad a couple days so am still low on the learning curve.

I just tried to erase my history, my bookmarks are still there. I think it might be a user error.

Heh, I have no doubt. That's why I posted for help. I do recall I was unable to get the drop-down History tab to retract, which is why i cleared it. Restriking the icon did nothing. But it works now, so dunno. Do these things sometimes just "freeze"? Anyways, all's good now.

yeah history can be deleted in bulk bookmarks are well....bookmarks.
