Calendar headings and layout wrong

On my PC desktop, Calendar shows the correct positions, like this:

But on my iPad the days and dates are on the right.

Is there a setting I've been unable to find to fix this please?

BTW, I tried using the Image tool, but it doesn't work. Just places 'IMG' in square brackets.

That's a default setting for the built in Calendar app, and there's no way to change it.

There are other calendar apps (Google Calendar, e.g), which have date and day at the left, as you prefer it:

It looks like Apple prefers date and day at the right. The calendars on iPad and Mac look similar
