Call me uncertain

K everyone I have a concern. My son has gone through ,that were stolen apparently, and I am about to get him another for his birthday. BUT I logged on to his iTunes account and all his music is gone, which makes me wonder why? See I have one as well and had the same thing happen but all my apps , music etc, were still there. So I am beginning to wonder if maybe he didn't have them stolen after all.

Now I plugged in the new iPod and after a short while the songs he had purchased were there but could not be played.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated

Can you tell us a little bit more about this? If the songs are on iTunes then you can download them again via iCloud (if your iPad is on iOS5), so there shouldn't be a problem.
