Camera on my ipad2

Iv had my iPad since Christmas and tried to take a picture on it but I comes up as a black screen, I can't press anything. Any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanksss

First thing to try is to end the App - double click the home button (or 4finger swipe up) to show the last opened apps, tap long on the camera app until the symbols twiggle and the "-" appears. Tap the minus, then start the camera again.
If no result, make a hard reset by holding power and home button until the apple symbol appears (after shutting down).
