Can any1 explain very simply how I share files between iMAC and Ipad2?

Hi

I have just got an Ipad 2 and already had iMac. I want to share files (photos, music, docs) between the two. I upgraded the mac to mountain lion so i had iCloud and have iCloud on iPad 2 - sooooo how do I get the files to be shared??

Can anyone explain (in very simple terms cos I just dont get it!!) how i access files from mac on the ipad2??
