can closing the smart cover be set to turn off ALL sounds?

if im playing music and my boss comes near, i would like a way for closing the smart cover so that the ipad2 goes immediately to standby and mutes everything including the music player. is there a way? thanks. also how do you print using airprint with the notes stock program?

No. But if you hold down the volume switch for a couple seconds it will mute.

The mute switch only stops system sounds and alerts. It would/should not stop music from playing, or other app sounds. Though it has been known to mute some third party apps, it won't stop the iPod app, or most others.

Nope the smart cover will not do what you are looking for it to do.

You cannot print directly from the iPad's native Notes app - you would have to copy-and-paste the note to another app - say Apple's iWorks Pages app - which does support AirPrint. Or you could email the note to yourself and print from the iPad's native Mail app.
