Can I video chat using other chat clients besides Facetime?

I got my iPad2 and would like to video chat with some out of state relatives. I've never video chatted (ipad2 is my first computer camera) and they don't have an iPad to do Facetime. Can I use the camera to do other video chat like maybe Yahoo or something common they can use? They have a web camera but don't know much either (duh like me)!

Try Skype. The app is free and you can video chat for free. It is available for the iPad(actually an iPhone app but it works). Others can get it for free for Macs and PCs. I have used Skype on my iPad 2 and it works very well.I do hope the folks at Skype update the app for the iPad 2 soon.

Tango is the best so far because it allows you to chat on the go without wifi. I like FaceTime but quality wise I don't see much of a difference in the two. Tango can also be used on new phones that have two cameras so you're not limited to a tablet or computer use.

Yep, that's true. That's what I like about tango as it has become very popular with cross platform mobile devices. FaceTime is restricted to iOS to iOS only.

I have read in some forums that tango will have a paid version soon. Since it is not an iPad app I assume when they do come out with it, which they are working on it, they will make it paid or a premium version.
