Can I view my boomarked maps without internet access?

I already burned up my 3G allotment this month so only have WIFI. I have bookmarked several google maps using the native map app on my ipad and would like to reference them while I am in that area. Is there a way to cache select maps so that I do not need 3G enabled to view them (and way from wifi)?

There are apps for that
You Need A Map for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store
They do take up room. ~2GB for that one

I have a wifi only iPad. I have planned a route in the included map app and looked at it while traveling.
