Cannot delete photos

I can't seem to delete any photos. I check mark the photo and then click on delete in the upper left hand side of the screen but nothing happens. Help please.

It would appear you can only delete photos you have download via the iPad ie: web pages all other photos will need to be done thru iTunes .....please correct me if I'm wrong

All of the photos were put through iTunes. They came from a file on my computers desktop. I had just got the iPad and was experimenting with it.

Yeah, as far as I know you have to hook back up to your computer and remove them through iTunes. Maybe someone has an app to get around it.

you cant delete synced photos from the ipad itself.

No you will be able to remove photos via iTunes.

Yeah, I hope as Apple continues to refine the iPad that they will move beyond the "big iPod" concept and see the iPad as a device that can better stand on it's own. I have only synced by iPad a couple of times. It's a pain I would rather avoid as much as possible. This thing needs to go all cloud based, not chained to a desktop somewhere.
