Calender plus sign has disappeared on iPad 2, so I tried the fix that was posted in this forum - I went to Settings>iCloud. It asked me to log in. So I type in my Apple ID username and password. But as soon as I did that, the panel disappeared and nothing happened. So I cannot log into iCloud, therefore I cannot fix the Calender.

Is this now an iCloud problem for me?? Why can't I log into iCloud?

Please help!

If you have not done so, try restarting or reseting the iPad.

Open the the iCloud settings again and see if yo can now sign in.

-----------------------------------

When you have problems with an app it's a good idea to clear it from RAM.

Close/Clear the app: With the problem app closed, double tap on the Home button to get the multitask bar. Tap and hold on any icon in the bar until they jiggle, then tap the minus sign on the problem app. This will remove it from RAM and insure a clean start the next time you launch the app.

If that does not work try a restart,

Restart: Hold down the power button until the power off slider appears. Slide it off. When the iPad finishes shutting down, hold down the power button again until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends you restart the iPad at least once a month.

and then a reset if that does not work.

Reset: Hold down the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appears. The iPad will reboot. This usually takes a bit longer than a restart.

Thanks for the reply ... Sorry I didn't put that in my original post - I have tried everything you have stated but still I have this same problem. Can you think of any other things that will help?
Thanks again!

Does the iCloud account also show up under your Mail, Contacts, Calendars settings. If so try deleting that account, then go back to the iCloud settings and try again. Maybe do a reset before you do the second part.

Other than that, this might be worth trying.

Go into Settings > General > Reset, and choose Reset All Settings (NOT the Erase choice right under it). Choose to set up as New iPad when you get to that point.

It is kind of scary looking, but it will not delete your apps, their contents, nor your accounts. You will have to go back through all your other settings and re-tweak them; things like notifications, sounds, mail, etc.
