cant access friends in my clinic

I just started playing this game a few days ago and I am now at a point where I need friends to progress much futher. However everytime I go to the section that allows you to request/view friends it tells me i have no connection and to check my internet server. I have access to all of my other online games, fb, google, so I am wondering if the server for this game is down...help anyone?

I got the same problem. It also happens every time when I access the room. I am stuck.
