Cant connect to iTunes Store

I'm trying to install a free app but I keep getting a message that it can't connect to iTunes Store. I'm at home and have a full wi-fi signal so don't know what the
problem is. Can anyone help? I've turned the iPad fully off and on again.

I'm in eastern Canada and just tried to update an app - same thing - "Can not connect to iTunes store".

Site must be down for some reason.
