Can't hear the sounds

hello, I am very new to this forum or any forum for that matter. I do not know anyone with an iPad so i figured I'd join because the apple people usually have me on hold for the longest (even though they are extremely helpful). I posted this on the 'iPad 1' forum and now I cannot delete it from there ahh well. Sorry for the intro here is my issue:
I have the ipad 3 and i just bought the apple wireless keyboard to use with it. I noticed when I paired the keyboard to the iPad i can no longer hear the iPad sounds ( i.e. the clicking sound when you type and the sound it makes when you lock the screen). I checked the settings and the sound are on. I can also hear the sound from my music and movies just fine, so i have no idea whats going on !

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

You haven't inadvertently turned on the mute button have you, it's the little switch just above the sound control.
Also look at the control which is found when you bring up your multi task bar. Do the 4 finger swipe up or double press the home button and you will see your multi task bar along the bottom, swipe right as far as you can go and you will see a volume control slide here. There are different sound controls on the ipad, with mute activated you will still have sound to Youtube etc. Also most keyboards have their own mute setting, so this may have been activated....I don't have a keyboard so I can't advise which key it would be..hopefully someone else will chime in here.
