What's new

can't rem password...help

and how do I do that in iTunes?

Connect the iPad to iTunes and, when the Summary tab appears, click on the "Restore" button. iTunes will do its magic and install a fresh iOS 7.0.2.

The problem is that you cannot restore from a backup, unless you KNOW it does not contain that pass code. If it contains it, it will put it back on and you'll be right back where you started.

So, you'll have to restore as new, which means you'll lose your settings and data. But, you'll be able to use the iPad...

I hate to be so stupid, but when you say "connect the ipad to itunes", do you mean connect the ipad to my mac desktop and then open itunes on the mac desktop, or do you mean open itunes on the ipad? And I don't see a "summery tab" in itunes on either the itunes on the ipad or either itunes on the mac desktop. What and where is it? Again, I appreciate the help.

it means connect the iPad to iTunes on your Mac. The summary tab is only visible on your Mac when your iPad is connected to iTunes on your Mac.

An earlier post said I'd be losing my settings and data...just what setting and what data with I lose? Will I lose apps I had downloaded? what else?
