Change the home button function?

Is there a way for me to jailbrake and change the function of the home button, so when I hold it down, say for longer than 3 seconds, it's like I help the power button, or if I just hold it for 3 seconds and let go, it'll go to sleep.

My power button broke and it can't be fixed.

"Activator" allows you to reassign buttons and gestures with other functions, including the power button functions.

But, you will struggle to put the iPad in DFU mode without a working power button, so may not be able to jailbreak in the first place. Sorry!

Take it into an Apple store. It should be under warranty, no? Even if not, you might find a sympathetic genius...
