Changing "Music" Settings on Ipad1

Hi folks,
I've had an iphone for three and half years and was just given an ipad from work.
i noticed when I open "Music," that i can't seem to change views.
specifically, i have a lot of albums -- they are listed in "icon" view (showing album cover of each) -- i would rather prefer to see them in a list view. (on my iphone, everything is in list view.)
my song list is a list view (i suppose i has to be right?)
seems i ought to be able to make this change -- but i can't figure out how.
i went into settings -- nothing there.
i also went into preferences in itunes (both on the ipad and on my computer) and could not find a setting that would change this view.
any ideas?

Welcome to the forum! With respect to the iPad's Music App, WYSIWYG - what you see is what you get, basically. Unfortunately it doesn't have the same options as on the iPhone/iPod Touch or iTunes on your computer. So there's no list view option for Albums or Artists. That's probably not the answer you were looking for, but hope it helps.

If you're not using iTunes Match there is a very good music app (although it does not play podcasts) that has a list view for albums as well as artists called "Groove for iPad".
