Christmas Help Please

Hello All,

My wife has bought our lad an ipad 2 from argos for xmas.
Problem i have is that it has firmware 6.0.
I have an ipad 2 which i jailbroke as mine had 5.1.1 and installed asinthe (which was straight forward).
I cannot get 5.1.1 anymore and done some searching on internet, and unsure of whether to attempt as it xmas day tomorrow and dont want to mess it up.
Is there an easy answer so i get 5.1.1 installed on this ipad 2 with ios 6 on there already.
Would appreciate any sorta help, in dire straits.

From everything I have read on here and elsewhere (especially here) it is not possible to revert to an earlier iOS without blobs for your particular device. I have not read that there is a jailbreak for the iPad 2 on iOS 6, yet.

Correct, unless you have blobs for iOS 5.x and iOS 4.x, you can't downgrade and jailbreak. You will have to wait for an iOS 6 jailbreak. Unfortunately, your son will not be getting a jailbroken iPad for Christmas.

As has already been said, blobs are iPad specific, they will only work on one iPad, the one they were created for. So there would be no way you could transfer blobs to your sons iPad, which is what I think you were thinking of.

As scifan57 says, it's time to sit it out and wait for an iOS 6 Jailbreak, keep your eye on the below thread, all the information will be in the first post, it is updated every time new news is issued about the Jailbreak.
