Configuring French keyboard

Hi everyone,

I configure my iPad to use English, French and Japanese keyboards. The Japanese keyboard is absolutely excellent.

However, this is not the case with the French one. When I switch keyboard, i haveo a note on the space bar that it is ready to be use, but I do not get at all the accented French characters.

How can I get these accented characters?

Thanks for any suggestion.

Bruno

Press and hold the character you want to accent. A popup will appear allowing you to slide to the accent you require. Comme ça.

The French keyboard is not exactly that. It is still QWERTY, rather than AZERTY, but it will change your spell-checker into French. The accented characters are available on the English keyboard too, and include many accents not used in French, although some are missing such as the Hungarian double acute, and the Romanian S and T with cedilla. Presumably, these would be available on local keyboards for users of those languages.

Actually (at least for me) it has the AZERTY layout. Just go to Settings-General-Keyboard-International Keyboard-French.
