Contact Display Settings

I am wondering is there a way to change the way contacts are viewed , as far as the last name first its the default i.e. I have a contact John Doe ,, I look in contacts and alphabetized it til show DOE bold and John will be normal font.. I would love to be able to go from A to Z based on the contacts First name not the last.

Maybe I am overlooking the setting but I can't seem to find the way to change. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Settings - mail, contacts and calendars - scroll down to the contacts section and change the sort order to what you want
