Contacts: make Favorite, what can you do with it and howto unfavorite a contact?

On the iPhone it's clear: the favorites are in your phone application under the star button. There you can unfavorite them (delete a favorite). However, ther's no phone application on the iPad. So, what's the use of making someone a favorite on your iPad, and, how to undo that?

On the iPad, it makes them a favorite in FaceTime. You remove them from the Favorites list in FaceTime the same way you do on the iPhone phone app except you do it in FaceTime instead
