Contacts

AFAIK, it can't be done on the iPad itself.

The easiest way I was able to do it was very iCloud (after turning on syncing the contacts with iCloud - in Settings). Then, I was able to use my desktop computer and create groups over the Internet in iCloud. Once I was done, they auto-synced to my Contacts app and then I had groups.

This worked for me. However, I could be wrong - maybe there's an app that'll do this. If so, hopefully someone will be along to tell what they've used.

There is an app called groupspro lite which is free. There is also a paid version (£1.49). The only difference is that the light version only allows 3 mailing lists, the paid version many. Groups can be set on on both versions.

Hope this sorts out your problem.

Oh, wait! Do you mean to (1) sort your Contacts into groups or to (2) make groups for facilitating quick addressing of emails? If its the first, what I wrote applies.

If it's the second, another app you might want to check (in addition to the one recommended by Gtatler) is the app Mail Shot (you can get the free, trial version to see if it's what you want - the Pro is the paid version). With it - you can create a group name in your Contacts. Then, all you have to do is select that group as an e-mail address and so all the people in the group will get the e-mail. Very handy, that. :)

Sorry for the confusion.
