Smash hit Flash game Cover Orange is coming to the iPad. FDG Entertainment (of Parachute Panic HD fame) announced today that it has submitted the HD version of the wildly popular physics-based Flash game to the App Store for approval. The original Flash game has had more than 60 million plays since launch, and the iPad version certainly seems to be just as addictive and colourful. The gameplay is almost the reverse of Angry Birds: instead of dismantling the chuckling piggies' houses and trying to destroy them, you must keep the little oranges safe and covered so that they are protected from the acid rain when it starts to fall. Players have to be resourceful and strategically place various protective objects over the oranges (hence the title) in order to save the fruits from the liquid death on its way from above. Save all the oranges and you’ll be rewarded by their happy cheers of joy. No word on an exact release date or price yet, but it should be very soon.
